Basic Info
As most of you have noticed, the first thing about the site is there wasn’t a single rule thread. That is because One: I hate sites with a list that takes you an hour to scroll through. Two: Everyone that comes on the forums generally has read them one hundred times some where else, so they know what’s to be expected. Let me start by saying, I’m a fun loving fair girl, but, if you do something rude or hurtful to someone(ooc), you’ll be off the site. Alright, so let’s start.
Before Posting on the rp threads in this site(After you've been accepted), you must go to font claim, and get a font, as well as Celebrity claim(if you are an original character). When you post on the site, you MUST use your font. You also MUST have an icon so we can visualize your character. Please NO 65 x 65 icons, they look tacky. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
General Rules
1. Have fun, honestly don’t think the forums always are so serious. Role playing isn’t fun if everything is super depressing or dramatic. Do what you feel you want to, as long as it’s not hurting anyone!
2. Activity is important, I understand a lot of you will be going back to high school and starting college. I completely understand this as I am in high school myself, taking a college class. So, what I’m saying is please only sign up for what you can handle, and get on a couple times a week. If this is not possible for what ever reason, PM me and we’ll talk. I’m a very understanding person. However, if you disappear for weeks- months at a time, with no notice, you’ll be deleted.
3. Permission. Example: If you’re a vampire, and you’re going to bite some one, you need permission to do it from the person. I know this seems lame, but stating this now will cause less fights for me to break up later.
4. No God modding. Let the person control their own character! I know there’s small instances where it’s acceptable, but understand what I’m saying. If I notice that there is an excessive amount of God modding going on, and I contact the character being god modded, and they haven’t planned something with your character, or if they contact me (or another staff member) telling me that you are God modding them, I will be highly upset.
5. No Mary Sues. No one is perfect, gorgeous and flawless. No one is perfect, do not make the person you’re rping!
6. Okay, this is going to be a talented rp site, so all posts are to be in third person, unless they’re thinking something, Example :
Vicki moved blindly through the trees, she swore Henry was around there somewhere. ‘Henry? Where are you…?’
So, All posts are to be in THIRD person. It just does not look good, nor sound good when people are role playing it in the first. They also must be fairly long, I’m not taking seven paragraphs long (unless you want to do that, and it’s fine.) I’m talking at least TWO paragraphs each time, I know however we get stuck some times, so I won’t complain if once and a while it’s only one paragraph. Also, I know that some boards don’t like you writing a 5 paragraph post with a lot of thought or character information instead of mostly rp. I’m not like that. I enjoy those kinds of posts just as much as I do the short, sweet, and to the point posts. I believe those kinds of posts add character.
7. Please… Spell check your work…AND PLEASE pick a font color, that no one else has. Check the font claim, To personalize it if some one is using the color you may add a glow, or shadow.
8. Graphics. I’m really a huge fan of them, I want everyone to at least have a icon. Signatures are great as well, but DO NOT make them stretch the page. 500 X 200 is a good length and MAXIMUM length for width. If I see one larger, then I will replace it with just a link, and tell you to resize it. If you need any help with Graphics, go to the graphics section.
9. Swearing is fine, don’t over do it.
10. Shout Box… Be polite in it if it’s OOC. If it’s IC and you’re playing around that’s fine.
11. If you’re a canon character, ACT LIKE IT, if you fail to do so, I’m gona getcha (That was added for comical relief.)
12. When making a new thread, put the title of the thread, as well as the date that the rp would be happening on. NOT the date you start it, mind you. The fictional date. Such as:
Morning Already? 6/14
The title of that thread being Morning Already? and the date in the rp being 6/14 (note that it IS month/date). The month must correspond with the month in the header info on the date that the thread was started. This way, it is easy to tell what happened "yesterday" "last week" or what hasn't even happened yet.
13. Last but, not least, If you are going away for more then 4 days, please tell us in the absentee board. If you have failed to give us notice, and are away for more then six days, you are subject to be replaced, especially if you are a canon character. Now that I’ve typed two pages of rules, I think I’m done. Thanks everyone! If you have taken the time to read the rules, please put this in the "what?" section of your application: Demonology 101

Affiliate Rules
1. My banner MUST be on your site (or some kind of link). If not, I will remove your affiliate banner until a link to my site is in place and you will have to put in another form to be affiliated
2. Use the form that I have made. If you don’t, your site will not be considered for Affiliation. Also, if you leave a part that should be filled out blank, I will not consider your site. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Staff Members & Who To Talk To
Have a Question? Need some Help? Just want someone to talk to? See a Staff Member! Now, all of the site’s staff members are people who I trust with the position that they hold. If I trust them, believe me, you can.
• Vicki Nelson • Sinead • Christina
Would you like a staff member position? When there is one needed, I will send out an email to every one that there is a position open. The requirements are these:
• I must be able to trust you with the board if all of the other staff members, including myself had to leave. • You must be quite active of the board. • When applying, you must have at least 300 points to be considered. How you obtain those points, I do not care. I am the only one that can administer points, and I award them fairly. So if you have at least 300, you are well worthy of a staff member position.
Now, Who do you talk to for what?
• Vicki Nelson, Christina, & Sinead – I (Llys) play All three characters, and I can help you with pretty much anything except graphics. ESPECIALLY plots. If you want to make a sub plot, but have no idea of how to tie it in with my site, come to me. My Yahoo is victory.nelson and I’m on a lot, so feel free to add me, and ask away!

KARMA AND POINTS!
Karma.
At the bottom of their mini profile on the left side bar, is two little links that read -[ Exalt | Smite ], Exalt will give Karma, and Smite will take Karma away. Karma is an indication of how popular/helpful a member may be. Just do not rely solely on that. Go ahead! Try it on a member you like (or don’t)
Also, no excessive smiting! If I notice someone is being excessively smited, I can tell who is doing it, and will not be a happy camper.
Points
I've now added the use of points on this site. Here is how they are going to be used, and since everyone is supposed to read the RULES board, if I get questions about this, I will be upset.
WAYS TO GET POINTS:
POSTING! - Yes, you earn 1 point for every post you make! Aren't I nice?
MEMBER OF THE MONTH! - When you are MOTM, you are awarded 100 points for your fellow members thinking so highly of you. If the member of the Month quits during that month (I've had it happen), the title of Member of the Month will move to the 2nd place winner, but no points will be awarded.
BEING ACTIVE IN THREAD OF THE MONTH! - If you are an active (3+ posts) participater in the TOTM, you are awarded 50 points.
CONTESTS! - When we start contests, I will hand out points that will be pre-determined before that contest to the winner(s).
GIVING SUGGESTIONS! - If you give a suggestion that I use and it makes the site better, I will award you 25 points.
BEING NICE! - If a staff member sees you being kind to a new member and helping them out, we might give you a few extra points.
HOW TO LOSE POINTS
BREAKING GENERAL RULES! - If I, or another staff member witness you breaking a rule, you will lose points. You will lose how many we seemed fit to take away.
WHAT ARE POINTS USED FOR?
STAFF APPLICATIONS - When there are staff positions available, and applications are given, you must have at least 300 points to be considered.
GROUP CHANGES - Turned vampire? Good Supernatural Being gone bad? Human that has learned some powerful magic? Or did you just get a rookie job at the Police Department? For the change to become official, and me switch your member group, you must trade in 50 points. (This makes sure that a person doesn't join as a human, just to be turned into a vampire right after)
SHOWING OFF! - Doesn't it feel good to be the envy of every new member? You have 500 points and they only have 5 for their application and claims posts! You know deep down inside they envy you!
TOP POINTERS LIST – Every month I update the Top Pointers List, which is at the bottom left corner of the big table at the top of every page. The top five are placed up there along with how many points they have.
SUPER AFFILIATES - Once we get affiliations started up, we will have Super Affiliates. You only need to cash in 150 points for this. What this will do, will put your banner up at the top instead of the bottom. Another way to become a Super Affiliate is to join my site, and if you invite me to yours and I join, you are automatically a Super Affiliate. So it can cost, or not, either way. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warnings
Warnings are something I don’t like using. I really don’t. I will only use warnings if your points get down to 0 (I don’t like going into negatives, and haven’t even tried to see if the points can), or if you just break rules constantly. Those rules include the items that aren’t listed in the General Rules, but in other sections. They still count, and are one of the many reasons it is important to read all of the rules thread. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- THANKS!
Thank you for taking the time to read the rules!
